Yesterday I received this following email, which is exciting news for small businesses in their fight against spam:

As you may have read in industry news this past week, TFS Technology recently released TFS Secure Messaging Server 5.1, our award-winning email security product, as "freeware" for up to 250 users.
Offering the new 5.1 version of TFS SM-S as a free license enables organizations with up to 250 users to immediately adopt the secure messaging features and capabilities that many successful organizations rely upon daily to secure their email systems, all without having to make an additional financial investment in email security technology. Over time, as their email systems grow in complexity and in total number of email users, they will be able to migrate easily into our more scalable TFS EmailControl solution.
This is good news for large enterprises with more than 250 users as well, as this release now enables their business partners with less than 250 users the ability to secure their email communications.
I welcome you to learn more about this new offering:

The free license has no limitations on the time it can be used -- there is no limiting "free trial period." Organizations can choose to purchase an annual support subscription, which also provides access to future product updates and enhancements.
As future development of new building blocks for our more scalable TFS EmailControl solution continues, TFS will add support for Linux and Unix, using the same proven technology that is used in other TFS solutions. TFS EmailControl will make it possible for small companies, as well as large
enterprises with more complex email security needs, to communicate securely with server-based encryption transparency (which also enables central content and virus scanning).

At a later time I may run a review of the TFS EmailControl (previously known as Secure Messaging Server). I have used this product for many years and have tweaked it into a mean spam fighting machine, tweaks that I can share with you wanting to run this software.
