UNA Antivirus Spam - The Ruse

On March 7th, in our Security Related forums a newly signed up member by the name of "Sen" asked about a new antivirus they just happened to come across.

The next day another newly signed up member, this time "Tory" replied to Sen, gave some very vague information about what they knew about UNA Antivirus and said they would check it out.

Then the same day yet another newly signed up member replied in the Grisoft forum about UNA Antivirus, which I promptly deleted. Three new members, in two days, all using Russian based email addresses and writing in broken English. I checked out their IP addresses and verified they were logging in at different locations, and thought maybe Antisource.com was landing in the top Google results for "UNA Antivirus" for some reason, drawing visitors here. And that is when I saw...

Lots of different sites with forums, and the same question asked over and over. Let's look at a few:

UNA antivirus. What is it? Tell me.

Hert:
New antivirus has appeared and got "Checkmark" on http://www.westcoastlabs.org.
Someone heard about it?? Name is UNA.

I could go on and on. And this is just the first page of Google's results.

All of these forum members are new signups, as these questions are their first post. Then on some forums they sign up another account and reply to their own post, with vague information and yet another link related to UNA Antivirus.

Sorry guys, but this is not how you do business. If you can't properly communicate the legitimacy of your product and resort to unethical spam tactics, then your antivirus can't be trusted.
